This is a small, select and happy group, we enjoy the refreshments - Ribena, biscuits and sometimes cakes. We have a good chinwag about all sorts of things. Then we get down to some Bible Study.

During this past year we have looked at three main topics. Firstly we traced the idea of salvation through the Old Testament and into the New Testament. This helped us to get an overview of the Old Testament in particular. We saw how God had planned his salvation programme before he had created the world. We traced this through the time when Adam and Eve sinned. We saw how God made wonderful promises to Abraham and how some of these look forward to Jesus. We discovered many new places in the Old Testament where God talked about His plan for rescuing His people. The Old Testament came more alive.

Then we went to the other end of the time scale. We looked at the Second Coming of Jesus. We looked up references in the Old Testament that talked about the coming Kingdom. We saw how Jesus talked about the time when he would come back, although not even He knows the exact time. It all gets very exciting when we realised that God's plan of salvation includes us.

And thirdly we started to look at the Holy Spirit. We are In the middle of these studies. We looked through a number of the passages to get an overview of who He is and what He does. Then we looked through the Old Testament to see how involved the Holy Spirit was then. We continued this study into the New Testament.

During the Autumn of 2005 we started to look at issues relating to our everyday situations. For example, we have looked at how the Bible deals with subjects such as euthanasia, abortion, work and unemployment. We continued into 2006 by looking at issues such as literature, films and the environment.
