Holiday Club 2007 - Waste Watchers

HOLIDAY CLUB: Tuesday 28th August – Sunday 2nd September

Another Holiday Club is now upon us!

Yet again, we will open the Church doors to children aged 5-11 for four mornings from 10.00 a.m. - 12 noon.

We 'clear the ground' each morning as the children register. After registration we will go 'Taskforce Groups'. These are the small age groups based on ages. There the children will meet the 'Bin Men and Women'. These are the small group leaders.

During the morning sessions we will spend time together 'On the Tip' when we will have singing, quizzes, drama and we will watch the video that goes with the material. The video will tell various Bible stories around the theme of transformation.

Each day, in the 'Taskforce Groups' we will have refreshments, play games and do various craft activities. On the Saturday afternoon we will welcome families to a BarBQ. Hopefully the weather will stay fine so that we can have outdoor activities as well as indoor.

On the Sunday morning we will have the final session as part of our Morning All Age Family Service.

We are looking forward to another Holiday Club, knowing that it will be hard work.

BUT - just think about what is happening. We could have up to 100 children during the week. We will have contact with many families - some for the first time and many for the nth time. And here is the crux - WE ARE GIVING THESE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR ABOUT JESUS.

If that isn't worth the hard work, then I am not sure what is.

We are into double figures as to the number of Holiday Clubs we have run but we want to come to this year with a freshness and a new creativity. We want to give every child and every family the opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus. We want to see children and families coming to real faith in Jesus.

After Holiday Club we will continue to make contact with the children and families through various activities. And we will start preparing for Holiday Club 2008!
