VB.NET Experience

I have been working with Visual Studio 2005 for the last year. Projects include creating an example website for an Automotive Composite Accounts System, Parsing XML files for a database import tool and creating user pages for internal projects

Project: Financial Database Import Tool
This tool was designed to allow a user to modify supplier details within Access Dimensions. Access Dimensions is an accounting product that uses an SQL 2000 database. This tool allowed the users via a ASP.NET webpage using VB.NET code behind file to alter the records. An approver would then commit the transaction or refuse it and the records would be written to an audit trail

• ASP.NET Login page managing user roles
• VB.NET Code Behind page checking the change and notifying an approver that a change was pending
• SQL 2000 database containing the Access Dimensions data tables

Database Experience: SQL Server 2005
Working at Baker Tilly I would on a daily basis be involved in writing stored procedures, queries and views to output the financial data that the users required. Some of the data would go to a Crystal Report or an MS Excel Spreadsheet with VBA Macro Coding

• Advance T-SQL Statements including Self Joins, and summarised data
• Creating Stored Procedures and Triggers to protect enforce referential integrity into the database
• Analysis and design skills for data normalisation

SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
I have been trained to use SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. At Baker Tilly the reports for the Automotive Composite Accounts System were written using Reporting Services.
