InstallShield is a very powerful development tool that allows your organisation to build and deploy your product using a setup package. This allows your organisation to send out an automated install to your customers that can validate and install all the components that your software needs to run.

Project: Automated Setup Packages for KPMG
KPMG had outsourced their technical services to Hewlett Packard. I was brought into the team as an InstallShield Consultant to write Automated Setup Packages. Using flags on the server and the local machine, the KPMG network would force product updates onto all the users.

To do this they needed an automated InstallShield package that would run without any setup options or user input. I had to create new installs from specifications and reverse engineer existing setup packages by analysing what was installed and then simulating the same using InstallShield. An example of this would be an updated security patch or driver provided by Microsoft

Project: Setup Packages for GPs
I was hired for a short contract to create setup packages for GPs Software. The project used InstallShield version 9. My instructions were to analyse a series of batch files and recreate the package to do the same and enhance the installation by checking requirements.
