Website Notes
This section covers topics that will be important for running a website
- A Domain name is valid for two years. You would need to renew your domain name within the two year period to continue use of the name. There is a 60 day period of grace if you miss the date. After that the name is in the public domain
- Hosting is charged on a yearly basis.
- Website maintenance
- How frequently do you want to update the website (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly etc)
- Do you want someone to update the site for you or do you want to control this
There are several types of sites that can be provided. Each site has a level of effort required and an individual quote will be formed from the type of site selected and the information required. The time is a rough estimate for each site
- Basic Site - Company Information, Contact and Marketing information (8 + hours depending on size)
- Online Shop - Licence cost for secure shopping software (30 + Hours depending on size)
- Content Management System. - (30 + Hours Site Design, Initial pages and Training Notes so that users can then update content on their own)
Information Required
During the period of the website design information will be required from you. Below is a list of items that may be required for your website.
- Logos - Electronic format preferably, or headed paper that can be scanned
- Photos - These can either come from you the customer or stock photos can be purchased to go with the site.
- Company information
- Sales & Marketing paragraphs what you do, company products
- Company information like history
- Brochures for products
- Price list
- Contact email & Name for managing the site design

The following process will be followed for creating a website
- Gather Requirements
- Produce Quote
- Suggested Layouts and example templates
- Gather company information
- Build company information onto site
- Review with customer
- Site will go live and the domain address will be submitted to search engines.
